Showmanship CampShowmanship Camp is a program designed to introduce riders to the responsibilities and fun of attending and participating in a horse show. Each week the riders focus on preparing themselves and their horses for a show and will learn horse grooming, braiding, clipping; tack turn-out; rider attire and preparation; how to ride for a judge; what to take to the show for horse and rider, budgeting for a show and so forth. At the end of each session, riders are encourages to participate in a local horse show under the supervision of Meadowbrook Staff (please note that costs for the horse show would be in addition to the showmanship Camp fee). Teen Session (W/T/C and up) NEW!14-17 years old 4:30pm-7:30pm This program is designed for riders ages 14 and older who want to develop both their riding and horsemanship skills. Lessons will focus on all aspects of horsemanship such as nutrition, stable management and training in different disciplines. All riders must be confident at the walk, trot and canter in order to participate. All riders new to Meadowbrook must take an evaluation lesson to determine placement. $630 2013: June 10-14, Aug 5-9, Aug 12-16 Adult Session (All Levels)Meadowbrook Stables is proud to offer a camp for all levels that is convenient to the working professional. All riders are 17 and older. This one-week camp schedules daily riding and lectures, Monday through Friday from 6:00pm – 9:00pm. 2013: June 3-7, July 8-12 Full DayAges for full-day camp range from 9-14 years old. Camp hours are from 8:30am – 4:00pm. In each session small groups are assembled according to ability level supplied by applicant and through a Meadowbrook evaluation conducted on the first day of camp. Campers learn about horse care and horseback riding through lectures, activities, games, demonstrations and riding lessons. At the end of each session, we invite you to watch the campers ride and win ribbons in their camp schooling horse show and/or participate in a game day. 2013: June 17-21; June 24-28; July 1-5; July 8-12; July 22-26; July 29-Aug 2; Aug 5-9; Aug 12-16
Mini Camp (half day)We host morning sessions for our younger students ranging from ages 6 to 9. This program is designed to give our young riders a safe, fun and educational approach to riding.
